My daughter and I shared an Apple Account for several years, but now that she's starting high school, we created a separate account for her and set it up on her iPhone. After a few login attempts and setup issues, the new account was locked later that evening. We selected "Request Access" and were told it could take 24 hours to receive a response. If that request is denied or doesn't resolve the problem, what should we try next? Find My is enabled, and we can't turn it off or sign out of the account without regaining access. Is it possible to create another Apple Account using the same phone, or is the account permanently tied to her phone number or device?

If the access request fails, contact Apple Support and ask about removing the activation lock after proving ownership of the iPhone. They’ll usually want valid proof that the device was purchased, such as the original receipt from Apple or an authorized retailer. The receipt should identify the device clearly, including details like the serial number or IMEI when available.

The account is in my daughter’s name, but the original receipt is in my spouse’s name. Would Apple still accept it as proof of ownership?
