What CPU and Motherboard Should I Upgrade to for My 8-Year-Old Gaming PC?

Hey folks! I've got a pre-built gaming PC from 2017 with an i7-8700K and a GTX 1070 Ti, and it's still going pretty well. But I think it's about time I upgrade. I'm eyeing an RTX 5070 Ti as my new GPU and am considering the Ryzen 5 9600X to pair with it.
I'd love to hear your suggestions for other CPU options, whether Intel or AMD, that would complement the RTX 5070 Ti nicely. I'll also be upgrading my motherboard, so any good motherboard recommendations would be awesome too. Thanks for the help!

You'll need to upgrade your RAM too, especially if you're switching to a new motherboard. A B850 motherboard should serve you well, and make sure to go with PCIe 5.0 support for the future.

Are you looking to fully upgrade, or just swap out a few parts? What's your budget? Since your motherboard is older, you'll probably want to replace the GPU, CPU, motherboard, RAM, and possibly the power supply as well! Let me know if I missed anything.

Yes, it sounds like I need to upgrade a lot since my motherboard is outdated. If there's anything else I'm missing, please let me know!
