Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my CPU but haven't kept up with PC components lately. I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 and I'm wondering if I should go for the Ryzen 5 5700X, or maybe switch over to the AM5 platform? Also, can someone give me an idea of what the costs would look like for AM5?

It really depends on your goals! Are you mainly looking for better gaming performance? If that's the case, you might want to consider a 5700X or maybe even the 5800X3D for a nice boost while sticking with AM4.
