I'm putting together my first PC and I want it to handle most tasks, even if it isn't lightning fast. My budget is around $900 to $1000, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on performance estimates and any potential issues I might run into. Here are the specs I've chosen:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- Motherboard: MSI B-550M Pro VDH WiFi
- GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3050 Ventus
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 16GB
- Storage: Crucial P3 1TB SSD
- Power Supply: Corsair CX650 80+ Bronze
- Case: Cooler Master Elite 301

You might want to check if your RAM is a single 16GB stick or two 8GB sticks. The dual-channel setup (2x8GB) usually provides better performance. Also, looking at your budget, it seems this build is coming in under $800, so you might have some cash left over for upgrades! Just a heads up, the power supply isn’t the best quality either; I found a great PSU comparison chart that might help you out.
I have a suggestion that might give you better performance for just a little more. Check out this build: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gWfj9C](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gWfj9C). It uses the 8GB version of the 9060 XT, which is significantly faster than the 3050 you picked!
Thanks for the suggestion! I was actually wondering if anyone knows good PC builders in Australia. The ones I've found usually have limited parts or only offer prebuilt options.
Definitely consider that PSU upgrade! I went with an ADATA Core Reactor 750W, and it’s both powerful and affordable. Good quality really helps in the long run, so it’s worth checking out alternatives.
