I'm looking to put together a gaming rig with a budget of around $1500 to $1700, and I'm located in the US. My primary goal is to enjoy gaming at 1440p resolution. The prices of parts are fluctuating, but look for options with an AM5 socket, ideally with a Ryzen 5 7600 or similar, and aim for a GPU around the 5060 Ti 16GB level. Just a heads up, avoid brands like Alienware or sub-$700 builds that might compromise on quality.
If you’re leaning towards building your own, just keep in mind to research RAM availability. It’s a bit tricky right now.

You can aim for a build with a Ryzen 5 9600X, a 9070 XT, 32GB of RAM, a 2TB SSD, and an 850W power supply. All that would come in just under $1600, and you might not find a prebuilt with that performance for the same price!
The current spike in RAM prices is largely due to AI companies hoarding it for their needs. Even DDR3 might start seeing price hikes, so it’s worth keeping an eye on this!
