What Should I Consider When Upgrading and Migrating My Windows Servers?

I'm currently running Windows Server versions 2012, 2016, and 2019 and planning to upgrade to Windows Server 2025. At the same time, I need to migrate everything to a new server. I'm worried about potential risks I might not be aware of. For starters, I'm not entirely sure about the internal service versions like databases and antivirus software. Could there be any compatibility issues I should keep in mind during this upgrade?

You didn't provide enough details about your setup. Without knowing if your servers are virtual or the specific components involved, getting a clear answer is tough.

If these servers are crucial, I'd recommend getting your Managed Service Provider (MSP) involved. They do this all the time, and it might save you a lot of headaches compared to doing it yourself. If hiring isn’t an option, just make sure to do your homework—research is key!

Looks like you might need the MSP since there's a reorganization of financial infrastructure going on.

It's a good idea to schedule upgrades for a Friday evening when the office is about to close, as it usually takes around 15 minutes per server.

Just keep in mind that the client wants non-disruptive services, so plan accordingly!
