I was downloading a game from Pixel Drain, but I accidentally downloaded a file labeled "installed files" instead of the game itself. I quickly deleted it, but it seems like my account might have been compromised. I'm not sure what steps to take next besides changing my passwords. Does knowing what caused this affect my situation?

You definitely want to reset your passwords right away, especially for any accounts that may have been affected. It's also a good idea to run a virus scan on your computer just to be safe. Windows Defender is a decent option, but if you have another antivirus program you trust, you might want to use that too. Just make sure to do this as soon as possible!
I recommend unplugging your internet connection until you've scanned your computer. That way, if there's something malicious, it won't have a chance to send out any information. Once you're able to scan, switch to whatever antivirus you have on hand to get a full check. It's better to be cautious!
