Hey folks, I really need some advice here. My iPhone was stolen just two days ago, and to make matters worse, I forgot my Apple account password. I don't have another Apple device to help out, and when I got home, I realized I hadn't saved my password anywhere. I tried to reset it through Apple's recovery service, but at first, I was told I'd get a response in 24 hours. Then it changed to 7 hours, and now it says 6 days! I'm really worried about my data. I do have a Gmail account linked to my Apple ID, and I managed to recover my phone number, but I'm at a loss for what else to do. Is there any way to directly contact Apple for help? I've only had the phone for a year, and this is my first experience with Apple and a theft. Any advice would be super helpful!

I totally get your concern! The wait time seems so frustrating, especially since it changed from 24 hours to 6 days. But to answer your question, during this period, you won’t be able to access your data until your account is recovered. If the thief tries to access your phone, they shouldn't be able to without your password, but it’s good to stay cautious. Once you regain access, you’ll want to change your password right away and consider setting up two-factor authentication for future security.
Unfortunately, the 6 days you see is the waiting period for your recovery request. It’s best not to call Apple support since there's really nothing they can do to speed things up. Just take this as a learning moment to remember your password next time and consider having a second trusted number for recovery.
