What should I upgrade my dad’s broken GTX 1070ti to?

My dad's GTX 1070ti has finally given up the ghost. The display ports aren't working, but I can see the card is still running. It was more than he needed for the games he plays, which are mainly Civ V and a little bit of Civ VI. He's considering trying out some new games too, like Skyrim. Ideally, he wants a modern equivalent or something close without needing to upgrade the power supply. I'm looking for suggestions!

If he's keeping to a $200 budget, you might want to look at a used GTX 3070. It's a great card that should handle all his gaming needs.

For around $200, the AMD Radeon 9060 XT is worth considering, especially if he's into gaming on Linux. It runs smoothly on older single-player games and has a good amount of VRAM.

If you can find one, the RX 6600 or 7600 are excellent options that would fit his budget and play style. They'll handle Civ and Skyrim just fine.

The Intel ARC B580 is a solid choice for your dad. It should perform well with his usual games and is modern enough for a decent upgrade.

Honestly, if he's okay with a little used market adventure, a second-hand 1070ti could work too – it might be familiar territory for him!
