What to Do if My PC Got Wet and Won’t Power On?

My son accidentally left his window open during a rainstorm, and his PC got wet (but not completely soaked). I think it was off at the time, but it might have been plugged in. I want to diagnose the problem before assuming it's a total loss, but the power button isn't activating the power supply unit (PSU), even after I tried a brand new PSU. I'm stuck on how to move forward. Does anyone have suggestions for how to turn on the PSU without using the power button?

You can actually jump the power pins on the motherboard to start it up. If you're testing the PSU by itself, you can do the same on the PSU itself to see if it powers up without the motherboard involved. Just make sure to check for any stray moisture to be safe!

If you're feeling unsure about jumping pins, it might be best to take your PC to a tech shop for help. They can check for any internal damage and get it back up and running safely.
