What’s a reasonable budget for a gaming PC?

I'm planning to build a PC for gaming, focusing on titles like Valorant, Minecraft, Osu, and Roblox while also using it for everyday tasks. I'm contributing half the costs, and my parents are covering the other half. I'm uncertain about what a good budget would be to ensure the PC performs well. I'm ready to spend anywhere from €1,000 to €1,850, but I'm looking for guidance on what I should aim for.

It really depends on the type of gaming experience you’re aiming for. For solid 1080p gaming, a budget of around $800–$1,000 is ideal. You might even be able to tackle some 1440p games with the right GPU. If you want to dip below $700, you can still make a playable setup, but you'll have to lower some settings and might need to consider used components. Once you hit over $1,200, you're looking at better performance and more future-proofing. Remember, the GPU is crucial for gaming, so allocate a large portion of your budget there. Starting with a strong base and upgrading incrementally (GPU first, then CPU, and RAM/storage) is a solid strategy. If you share your exact budget and the games you're targeting, we can suggest a more tailored build!

That's some great advice! I agree, future-proofing is key. Investing in a good GPU now will save you money in upgrades later.
