I’m new to Ubuntu and want to make a bootable USB from an operating system image. What’s an easy tool to use, ideally something straightforward like Rufus?
What’s a simple way to make a bootable USB on Ubuntu?

Balena Etcher is a simple option: choose the image, choose the USB drive, and start writing. Double-check the selected drive first, since writing an image erases its contents.

Ubuntu also includes a startup disk creator, so you may not need to install anything extra. Pick the image and USB drive in the app, then create the startup disk.

If you want to keep several system images on one USB, Ventoy may suit you better. It works differently from a one-image-at-a-time writer, so for the simplest single install, Etcher or Ubuntu’s built-in tool is probably less fuss.
