What’s Slowing Down My PC and How Can I Upgrade?

Hey everyone! I'm a bit perplexed about what's holding back my current PC setup and what would be the best way to upgrade it. I play a variety of games, both AAA and indie, plus I do some basic computer work. Here are my current specs:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
- RAM: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz
- PSU: Corsair 550 Watt 80 Plus Bronze
- Motherboard: ASRock B450M PRO4

Overall, performance is decent but it's starting to feel a bit sluggish with newer games and when multitasking. I'd love some insights on what might be my weakest link and how to prioritize my upgrades. My budget is flexible; I'm looking for some good bang for my buck. Thanks for any help!

The GPU's your biggest issue; it would help to know your screen resolution and budget for upgrades. Since you're gaming at 1080p and open to spending under $1000, I'd suggest checking out some newer GPUs that can offer great performance. Future-proofing is key, even if it costs a little more, so consider the latest models for longevity.

I’m at 1080p and I agree, I'd like to future-proof a bit. Thanks for the suggestions!

If gaming is your focus, I’d recommend upgrading the GPU first. The 5700 XT might struggle with newer titles. A more powerful graphics card can provide a significant performance boost. Depending on your budget, you should look at options like the RTX 3060 or AMD's RX 6700 XT, which can handle gaming much better.

What do you think would be the best bang-for-your-buck GPU upgrade? I don't want to overspend!

Definitely the GPU is your main bottleneck. The Ryzen 5 5600X is still quite capable for most tasks, but the 5700 XT is starting to show its age, especially at higher resolutions. If you're gaming at 1080p, you might need to dial down some settings occasionally, even then it can lag.
