I'm currently using a 3060 with a 1080p display and I'm thinking about upgrading both my display and GPU to 1440p. What's the most cost-effective GPU that would give me about 50% more performance at 1440p compared to what my 3060 does at 1080p? I've considered a 4070, but I wonder if there's something I'm missing. It needs to be NVIDIA since I do a lot of productivity work, and I'd like to hear options in AUD.

If price isn't a concern, the 5080 is the top performer for 1440p. But for value, a 9700XT might be a better deal, especially after recent driver updates that really boosted its performance.

For the best frame rates at 1440p with high settings, the 5070 Ti is your go-to, although it's a bit pricy compared to the regular 5070. If the price difference is too steep for you, the standard 5070 or even a 4070 is still a solid option.

Yeah, I've noticed that the 5070 Ti is nearly double the cost of the 5070 here in Australia. Doesn’t seem worth it for the performance jump!

From what I've read, if you just want 1440p, the 5060 Ti is a good fit. You might even think about the 5070 if you're leaning towards future-proofing for 4K later. But make sure you get it at a decent price.

I only need it for 1440p. How does the 5070 compare to the 4070 Super? They seem to be similar in price.
