Which Cloud Provider Has the Best DevOps Training Resources?

I'm not looking to compare which cloud provider—Azure, AWS, or GCP—is the best overall. My focus is specifically on which one offers the best training materials for DevOps. While certifications are great, I'm more interested in understanding the underlying theories and building my skills before I pursue any certifications. I learn best with a structured plan, so I'm wondering if any of these providers have superior training guides or resources that are vendor-neutral and go deeper into cloud-native technologies. I've been leaning towards AWS since they seem to embrace a cloud-first approach, while I perceive Azure to be more hybrid-focused. I'm not too familiar with GCP either. On top of that, I'm also seeking ideas for unique projects I can create to showcase my skills—not just the usual Cloud Resume Challenge that everyone seems to be doing.

In my experience, AWS has tons of third-party training options, while Microsoft produces a lot of white papers. If you want structured video content, AWS seems to take the lead. But if you're okay digging into some docs, MS has a lot of material.

True, but not all MS docs are great quality—some are quite dense and could be confusing.

Check out DigitalOcean! Their documentation and articles are seriously top-notch (even if their services aren't what I use anymore). They offer a lot of structured content for learning, and it's very accessible to beginners.

I’ve heard of them too! Do they mainly focus on their own tools or do they cover broader DevOps concepts?

Sounds promising! Are their resources pretty vendor-neutral?

You're a bit off with Azure; it aims for the cloud like everyone else. Each provider has resources tailored to its platform, but many people find Azure's flexibility great for hybrid setups. If you're really looking to learn, being cloud-agnostic can help. As for training resources, have you looked into vendor-neutral platforms? They can offer insights that apply across providers.

Thanks for clarifying! I want to learn from multiple perspectives if possible. Do you have specific recommendations for vendor-neutral learning sites?

When it comes to seamless hybrid, Azure has some unique features, but don't count out AWS for solid integration options either!

I work in a hybrid environment using Azure, and trust me, they can do hybrid very well! However, the challenge is often the adoption of DevOps practices itself, regardless of the cloud. If you want to learn DevOps effectively, practical experience is crucial. Maybe look for a project role where you can actively contribute to DevOps processes.

I'm currently trying to break into a role that involves those concepts! I've done some infrastructure work and I'm familiar with Powershell. I want to explore CI/CD more.

Getting hands-on is key! Maybe try building a project using automation tools to showcase your skills.

AWS seems to have the best overall DevOps training structure available — I’d say build a GitOps-based CI/CD pipeline with Kubernetes. It's a great way to show your skills and understanding of the ecosystem while being original.
