Which GPU is better for VR gaming: 5060 Ti 16GB or 5070 12GB?

I'm trying to decide between two GPUs for my VR gaming setup: the 5060 Ti with 16GB of VRAM or the 5070 with 12GB of VRAM. The price difference is about $100 in my country. My new build will include an Intel Core i5-14400F, and I initially considered the 12400F. I have a few specific questions:

- Is 12GB of VRAM sufficient for VR gaming?
- What are the VRAM requirements for the most demanding VR games?
- Will the ASUS PRIME B760M-A D4 motherboard support the 5070?
- Could pairing the 14400F with the 5070 lead to any bottleneck issues?

I'd recommend the 5070. Many games won't even need the extra 4GB from the 5060 Ti for VR. By the way, your setup with the 14400F should pair nicely with the 5070 without any significant bottleneck issues.

I'd definitely go with the 5070. It offers about 30% more performance than the 5060 Ti. While you might wonder if 12GB is enough, most demanding VR games won't hit a wall with that amount. Plus, the extra VRAM from the 5060 Ti is mostly useful for niche things like heavily modded games. If you're playing at 1440p or lower, the 5070 is a much better pick for visuals and smoother frames.

I actually own both cards and have found the 5070 to be superior for gaming. The 5060 Ti is a decent choice only if you're heavily into AI applications, but for pure gaming, especially VR, the 5070 is a no-brainer!

Hands down, the 5070 is the way to go! It's a more powerful GPU overall, and unless you're specifically looking at AI workload scenarios, the 5060 Ti won’t be as beneficial for gaming. Go for the better performance; you won't regret it!
