Which GPU Should I Upgrade To: 3070 Ti or 3080?

Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my GPU. Here's my current setup: I've got an AMD 7 5800X CPU with an Endorfy Navis F280 cooler, a single-fan ZOTAC GTX 1070 GPU, 32GB of DDR4 3600MHz RAM, a Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 motherboard, a beQuiet PurePower 550W PSU, and a 1TB WD Black SN770 SSD. My monitor runs at 1080p and 240Hz.

I've been considering upgrading to either an RTX 3070 Ti or an RTX 3080. I can get a ZOTAC RTX 3070 Ti Trinity OC 8GB for about $356 without a warranty or a Gainward Phoenix 3080 with a warranty for $380. Both cards are used.

I know my PSU might be a concern, but I can either sell my current PSU and hope to sell my 1070, or use my father's 650W Chieftec PSU.

I typically play CPU-heavy games like Assetto Corsa or LeMans Ultimate, and while I usually get about 80 FPS, I often shoot for more than 200 FPS during long races. I'm also into cinematics, and sometimes my frame rate drops to around 20-30 FPS when I want better graphics. Any thoughts or questions about my build?

I'd recommend going for the 3080 since it comes with a warranty. That’s a safer bet unless you really trust the seller of the 3070 Ti. Just remember, for power, aim for a PSU that's running at about 50-70% of its capacity, so a 750W PSU would be ideal for the 3080.

The 3070 Ti looks sketchy to me too. I’m wondering if 650W is cutting it too close; should I play it safe and get that 750W PSU? Selling the 1070 might be tough though, since I want to save some cash for a new sim rig.
