Which RTX GPU Should I Choose for 1080p or 1440p Ray Tracing?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC from a GTX 1650 to an RTX GPU and want to know which one would give me decent frame rates with ray tracing at 1080p or 1440p. I'd like to play some games like Garry's Mod, Left 4 Dead 2, and Half-Life 1 with RTX Remix enabled. My goal is to achieve at least 40 fps and ideally up to 75 fps (my monitor supports 75 Hz). Any suggestions?

The RTX 5070 would be a solid choice. It's great for 1080p and handles most games at 1440p without any VRAM issues, running really well even on high to ultra settings.

I feel like ray tracing is overrated, though. It’s all just selling you visuals, not real improvement in gameplay.

If you're on a tighter budget, the Arc A770 has been performing well too. Just keep in mind that everyone's experience might vary!

If you're looking for something in the ballpark of $375, you might want to consider a used 3080 Ti or a 4070. Both should give you high settings at 1080p and around medium to high at 1440p. The 4070 has frame generation, which can help in supported games, while the 3080 Ti is a beast in raw performance.

Honestly, any of the xx70 cards from the 30 series could work for you, even a 3060 Ti, but I'd suggest going for something more modern to keep your rig future-proof.
