I charged my AirPods overnight, but they only lasted 20 minutes before dying. Right now, they show 99% battery, yet the right one just died after 5 seconds of use. Are they just too old or possibly broken?

It would help to know what model your AirPods are and how long you’ve had them. Generally, batteries lose their ability to hold a charge as they age. If they’re a few years old, it’s likely the batteries have degraded, and you might need to consider getting new AirPods.
Batteries naturally wear out over time. If you’ve had your AirPods for about three years with regular use, it’s normal for them to start experiencing these issues. Apple offers battery replacement services that might be worth looking into.
I had similar battery issues with my generation 2 AirPods after four years. It got to the point where they just wouldn’t hold a charge anymore, and I ended up buying new ones.
