Hey everyone,
I've been editing videos for a YouTuber and we use Dropbox to transfer video files. I keep running into an issue where the MP4 files corrupt every single time I try to download them, but they work perfectly for my friend and the YouTuber's computer. It seems like something's going wrong on my end.
Here's what I've attempted so far:
- Downloading the files through Google Drive (still corrupted)
- Trying on a different laptop with an ethernet connection (same issue)
- Confirmed my friend can download it without any problems
- Checked both Media Player and VLC, but the files are corrupt there as well.
I'm really stumped and need to get this sorted out quickly so I can continue working on the video. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like it might be the video player messing things up. Have you tried using VLC? It usually does a good job with various formats.
You might want to consider your ISP as a possible culprit. It seems like you could be getting incomplete files. I’d start with that.
Yeah, I'm on Sky internet and honestly, I've had issues with them before. If it keeps happening, I might just go to my friend's house, download it there, and transfer it via USB. Also, for anyone in the UK: I'm just not recommending Sky broadband!
I actually tried VLC, but it didn't work either. It's really confusing!
