Why Are Some PCs Not Responding to Remote Management Tools?

I've got a tricky issue here: a few of our end user PCs are completely unresponsive to our remote management tools. We're using ScreenConnect, and while I can connect, it just hangs at a black screen and won't show any processes or software. Action1 is another tool we use, but when I send scripts or updates to these problem PCs, it just hangs and eventually fails after timing out. Similarly, Sophos Intercept X reports fine but doesn't respond during a live command session; it just hangs indefinitely. The common threads are that all affected PCs are running Windows 11 24H2, were deployed around the same timeframe (a few months ago), and they show this behavior regardless of whether the users are in the office or working remotely. Occasionally, they seem to function briefly before going unresponsive again. Out of around 400 PCs, about 6 are having these issues. If only a couple were affected, I'd just reimage them, but since it's a wider issue, I'm really hoping to find out what's causing this! Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

This kind of behavior could be related to Windows Firewall incorrectly identifying the network type. Sometimes, it thinks it’s connected to a public network instead of a private or domain one, which could hamper the exceptions you’ve set up. I've run into this before and it can be quite frustrating.

That's a good point! I’ve dealt with similar issues before where servers randomly switch to a public network. I’ll check this on one of the problem PCs to see if it’s the cause.

Let me know what you find! It can sometimes be the simplest things that cause these headaches.
