Why Can’t I Get 1Gbps Speed on My PC’s Ethernet?

I'm having trouble with my Intel Ethernet Controller (3) I225-V on my PC. Whenever I try to set the speed to anything above 100Mbps, I lose my internet connection. This also happens with auto negotiation settings. The PC seems to stop recognizing my Ethernet Cat6 cable since there are no lights in the ports. I've tried restarting the PC and unplugging and plugging the cable back in, but nothing works. How can I change the settings to use 1Gbps without losing my internet connection? Here are some details: my aggregated link speed is 100/100 Mbps, and I'm using an MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4 motherboard. The driver version is 2.1.4.3.

Have you checked what your Ethernet cable is plugged into? Make sure it's at least a Cat5e cable; that’s essential for achieving 1Gbps speeds!

I'm using a Cat6 cable, and it's connected to a Spectrum Router E6.
