Why Can’t I See My Large Files on Google Drive?

I've been dealing with an annoying issue on Google Drive for months now. It keeps telling me I'm over my storage limit, and I'm about to lose access to a bunch of files. When I try to clean up my storage by clicking on the large files section, I can't find anything at all. I've checked for hidden files, stuff in the trash, and verified that nothing is linked that I'm aware of. It's really driving me nuts! Does anyone have any suggestions on where else I should look or what I can do to resolve this?

Have you tried looking at the storage details at the bottom left of Google Drive? Sometimes people have a lot of smaller files, like photos or emails, which can eat up space without you realizing it.

Don’t forget to check Google Photos and Gmail too! Large photos and video attachments can contribute to your storage quota. Just make sure to look there as well.

You might be in a tricky spot if Google Drive says you have a lot of large files but you don’t see any when you check. It could be a glitch; try clearing your cache or logging in from a different browser to see if that helps.
