Why Is My Cell Phone Signal Blocked at Home?

I've been dealing with a frustrating issue for the last six months where my cell phone signal is being blocked inside my house. It's really annoying because when I step outside, my signal returns to normal. I'm looking for advice on what might be causing this and if there's someone I can hire to diagnose the problem.

Have you recently installed any new metal siding or a roof? That could definitely interfere with your signal. Also, it's worth checking if the nearest cell tower has been decommissioned lately—sometimes that happens unexpectedly.

Is this issue happening only with your phone or are others experiencing it too? Sometimes it could just be a specific device problem.

There are a few things that might be affecting your signal. For one, thick walls can really block signals, so if your house has those, that's a common issue. Also consider how far you are from the nearest cell tower—being too far can weaken reception. Additionally, interference from devices like Wi-Fi routers or even solar panels could be the culprit, especially if you recently got new solar panels installed nearby.
