Why is my motherboard showing more memory than I have?

I'm building my first PC and I have 128GB of Crucial RAM configured as 2x64GB on an X870E Hero motherboard. However, when I check the BIOS, it shows 131072MB of DDR5 5600. I also encountered a code 77 error on my motherboard after everything had been running smoothly. I'm concerned that this might be related to the memory reading or the error itself. Also, I'm using Windows Home, which only supports 128GB. Any insights on this?

What you're seeing in the BIOS is actually normal! 128 GiB translates to 131072 MiB since 1 GiB = 1024 MiB. Also, your motherboard can support up to 256 GB if you ever decide to upgrade.

Thanks for clarifying! It booted up fine after tweaking some settings, but I'm still a bit anxious since I use this machine for work. Some folks are suggesting that the code 77 could be a sign of a short circuit. Wish I had just taken it to a tech to build it!
