Why is my PC losing USB and Network connections randomly?

Hi everyone! I've been dealing with a frustrating issue where my PC randomly disconnects from all USB ports and the network adapter, as well as one of my NVMe SSDs. This happens whether I'm gaming or just letting the system idle. My setup is pretty solid: I'm running an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D with a Sapphire RX 7900 XT, backed by the MSI X870E Carbon motherboard and fully updated Windows 11 Pro. Despite monitoring temperatures and ensuring my PSU (a Seasonic GX850) and all drivers (including chipset and GPU) are up to date, I'm still facing these disconnects. I've even replaced the motherboard, but the problem persists. The only fix I've found is rebooting my system, which only provides temporary relief. I've seen an error in the Event Viewer related to my Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller reporting a Hardware IO error. Has anyone else encountered something like this or have any tips on how to resolve this issue?

I had similar problems before and updating the chipset drivers really helped. If you already did that, try uninstalling the network driver completely and then reinstalling it. Sometimes a fresh install can sort out weird bugs like this. Also, check if there's any unusual power management setting affecting the network adapter directly.

I did update the drivers but didn’t try uninstalling. I’ll give that a go and see if it makes a difference.

It sounds like a really annoying issue! First off, make sure you’ve checked for firmware updates for your motherboard. Sometimes, a simple BIOS update can really help with hardware compatibility. Also, have you tried taking a look at your power settings? You might want to disable USB selective suspend in the advanced power options. That could prevent those random disconnects.

I’ll check the BIOS for updates. I didn’t think about the power settings. I'll give that a shot too!
