Why Is My Ryzen 7 5800X Running So Hot?

I recently installed a Ryzen 7 5800X, and I'm concerned about its temperatures. While idle, it's running between 69-74°C, and when gaming, it spikes to around 90°C. I've got six fans installed and even removed the side panel, but it still runs hot. I've noticed the temperature can even rise while browsing the web. I applied thermal paste correctly, so I'm not sure what else I can do to cool it down. Any advice?

You didn't mention what CPU cooler you're using. The Ryzen 7 5800X has a 105-watt TDP and a higher power limit, so it needs a good cooling solution. If you're using the stock AMD cooler, that could definitely be the issue. I recommend looking into an aftermarket cooler like the Thermalright Phantom Spirit SE or even a 240mm AIO cooler for better temperatures.

Yeah, the stock cooler usually isn't enough for the 5800X. I was in the same boat before switching to a better cooler. Made a world of difference! Just make sure you have good airflow in your case, too.
