Why is Outlook using so much of my computer’s memory?

I've noticed that Outlook is consuming nearly 80% of my computer's memory, and it's not just me—my coworkers are experiencing the same issue. We all use Microsoft products for our work, so I'm curious about what could be causing this excessive memory usage. Is there something I can do to fix it?

Have you spoken to your IT department about this? They might have some insights or solutions, even if it's a third-party service. You also might want to check how many email accounts you've got linked, your sync settings, and the size of your OST file. All these factors can really impact memory usage.

Well, assuming I had a full IT department is a stretch. Our tech support isn't very helpful, and it's just a small team here.

Hey there! First off, you might want to check for any updates or patches for Office. It shouldn't really use more than 12GB of RAM, but sometimes it can hit that 80% mark if it's running poorly. Are you having any major performance issues?

Yeah, it's running super slow, which is why I checked Task Manager. It's showing that Outlook is using over 5000MB of memory!

Honestly, if you're consistently having problems, you might want to consider switching to different software. Outlook isn't the best option out there.

Any recommendations? I tried Thunderbird, but it hasn't impressed me at all.

If only it were that easy. I'm completely tied to the Microsoft suite and there's no chance of changing it. It's frustrating how a company with so much money can produce such a problematic product.
