I received an alert that someone in another country tried to sign in to my Apple Account. I'm trying to change the password from my iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 26.6, but after I choose "Change Password," Face ID scans successfully and shows approval, then nothing happens. I also can't change the password through Apple's website. What should I try next?

Since the change is failing both on the phone and on the website, try using Apple’s account-recovery or password-reset process instead of the Settings app. Also make sure the phone is updated, connected to a reliable network, and that you’re signing in with the correct Apple Account. If the security delay has completed and it still fails, Apple Support may need to verify the account and help remove the block.
Check whether Stolen Device Protection is enabled. If it is, changing your Apple Account password may trigger a security delay, especially if you’re away from a familiar location. You may need to wait about an hour and then authenticate with Face ID again before the password change can continue.

I waited and tried again, but Face ID still approves the request and then the screen does nothing.
