Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with my PNY 256GB flash drive. It was working perfectly fine until suddenly, it just stopped being recognized by my computer. Now, when I plug it in, it sometimes flashes as if the computer is trying to read it, but then it fails to open. I'm getting error messages like 'Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (D:)' and 'D: is unavailable,' which I don't understand since my drive is a stick and my computer has no disk slots. This started happening back in April after I had used it without any problems just hours before. I haven't moved any files on or off it. I've been waiting, hoping it would resolve itself, but no luck. I'm not very tech-savvy and this situation is stressing me out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First off, it’s possible that the USB drive might be corrupted or there could be an issue with the port. To check if it’s being detected, try using it on another computer. If it doesn't show up there either, you might need to run some diagnostics. You could open Command Prompt as an Admin, type 'diskpart', and then 'list disk' to see if your USB appears on the list. If it doesn't, it might be time to look into data recovery options or a replacement.
Just a tip: before you make any changes to your system settings that could affect your USB, make sure you have backups of any important data. If this drive is crucial, consider professional data recovery services if it turns out to be a hardware issue. Hope this helps!
Hey! Sorry to hear about your USB troubles. When you mention those error messages, it sounds like the computer isn't detecting the drive at all. If you try the steps to open Command Prompt and 'list disk' and only your C: drive shows up, that definitely suggests your USB isn't registering with the system. Have you checked if the USB is functioning? Sometimes simply switching the USB port can help too!
