I'm looking for advice on whether my i5 12400F build can achieve 60+ FPS while gaming at high/ultra settings in 1080p. My budget is tight, so I'm hoping this setup will work without an expensive upgrade. Someone suggested sticking with a current-gen CPU and motherboard, but I'm not really sure what that means. I really can't afford to spend more than what I've planned, so any help would be appreciated! Here's my [pcpartpicker list](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/F2Mffd).

Your build looks solid! It should handle 1080p gaming quite well, even at high settings. Just a heads-up though, the CPU socket for your i5 is discontinued by Intel, so if you plan to upgrade later, that might limit your options a bit. But for now, enjoy your build – it’s a great choice!
Thanks for the insight! So does that mean I can't switch to an AMD CPU in the future? It's a bit confusing.
