I'm trying to figure out if it's worth making the trip to the Apple Store, which is over an hour away from me. My phone was stolen and, after the thief realized they couldn't access it, they tossed it out of their window. I found it on the side of the road, and while my case protected it a bit, the back is shattered and the battery is seriously swollen. I chatted with Apple Support, but they just keep telling me to bring it in. I don't have Apple Care anymore since it expired a couple of months ago. I estimate I might need to pay about $99 for a battery replacement and about $160 for the back, but I'm not sure. Is this something that the Apple Store will help me with, or should I just consider getting a new phone?

Swollen batteries are typically replaced by Apple, so they should help you out with that. If the back glass needs to be replaced, that’s also something they can handle!

Absolutely! Just make sure to have it checked out because if the frame is bent, they might suggest a full replacement instead.
