Will Upgrading to a Ryzen CPU Really Boost My Gaming Performance?

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to use with my RX 9070XT graphics card. I'm considering either the Ryzen 7 7800X3D or the Ryzen 7 9850X3D. The price difference isn't a big deal for me, but I want to know if this upgrade will actually give me any noticeable benefits, or if I'm just wasting my money. I'm mostly playing competitive FPS and racing games at 1440p, and I'm aiming for at least 240fps. Any insights?

Make sure to consider what games you're focusing on. Those titles like Counter-Strike and Forza will benefit from the upgrade, especially in terms of smoother performance. Just going from average FPS to a more stable frame rate can make a big difference.

Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I'm really hoping to get that smooth gameplay in those fast-paced matches.

For the games you mentioned, upgrading to the 9800X3D or 9850X3D will definitely be worth it. They should provide you with much better minimum FPS, which is crucial for competitive gaming.
