What Motherboard Works Best with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D?

I'm looking to build a high-performance PC and want to ensure I choose the right motherboard to pair with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. I've typically gone for cheaper options in the past, but this time my budget is more flexible, and I want to invest in a quality board. I've heard some troubling reports of certain motherboards, particularly ASRock, having burning issues when used with this CPU. I'm planning to use 64GB of RAM (2x32GB) and am fine with just one M.2 NVMe slot. Any recommendations?

I'd suggest checking out MSI for your build. An average board, like a B650 or B850, should suffice unless you're going for really high-end components.

Thanks! I'll definitely look into MSI boards.

Unless you're going for something like a 4090 or planning on extreme performance with NVMe, any appealing B650 or B850 is a solid choice. I've heard good things about the Gigabyte Aorus Elite, especially their B650 models. I haven't looked much at B850 boards since they weren't on my radar.

I'm aiming for a 5080, and I do want a fast NVMe, but I'm not keen on the latest PCI standards. I was eyeing the Aorus Elite too, especially the B850 version, but it seems both B650 and B850 are quite similar, so saving some cash with the B650 might be the way to go.

Any B850 board should serve you well. Just focus on getting one with the features and input/output options that you prefer.

Thanks mate! I saw B850 mentioned a few times during my research, so it's nice to get that reassurance.
