I'm trying to put together a budget build using some older components I have to gift to a friend. The main things I need to source are an AM4 motherboard and a case, and I'm wondering where you all typically look for cheap parts. Do you guys usually check out eBay, or do you prefer marketplaces? Thanks for any tips!

Definitely check out eBay and your local marketplace. Those are solid options for finding good deals. You can often find used parts for a fraction of the price. Just be sure to check the seller ratings before buying!
I agree, eBay works well! Just be cautious with prices for AM4 boards; they can be pricey. For cases, Newegg has new ones for under $60, which is pretty good! But if you're looking for AM4 boards, it's better to buy new rather than used on eBay – the prices can be outrageous.
Yeah, I found some decent GPUs for cheaper. Just keep in mind that the GTX 10 series lost support recently, so if you're aiming for 1080p gaming, something like an RX 5700 XT or RTX 2070 would work better.
OfferUp is also great! They have a cool 2-day purchase protection for shipped items, which is nice. It's like they hold the funds until you get what you ordered.
