Why do my downloads suddenly stop?

I've been experiencing a frustrating issue where my downloads freeze unexpectedly. Specifically, any file over 50 MB seems to trigger this problem, resulting in a 'Network error' message. I find myself having to repeatedly hit the resume button to get anything to download, regardless of the website, browser, or whether I'm connected via Ethernet. I'm using Windows 11 and have tried all available browsers. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

A good step to try is to restart your modem. Just unplug the power cord, wait a bit, plug it back in, and see if that helps with the downloads.

Have you checked your internet speed? Running a speed test can provide insight into whether there’s an issue with your connection that could be affecting downloads.

You might want to try using a download manager like Free Download Manager. Sometimes, interruptions happen because of unstable internet connection, even if you're on Ethernet. It can help manage those downloads better.

I don’t think it’s my internet connection since I'm plugged into Ethernet!
