My PC Won’t Display Until I Mess Around With It – Help Needed!

Hey everyone! I'm dealing with a frustrating issue where my PC doesn't show any display when I boot it up. This started about a week ago, and while I can hear everything working through my headphones (like sounds from my browser and Wallpaper Engine), the monitor keeps saying 'no signal'. The only way I can get the display back is by resetting the CMOS, after which my PC works fine. It can even go into sleep mode and wake up with a display without problems.

This issue has been inconsistent. For example, sometimes resetting the CMOS helps, sometimes reseating the RAM does the trick, and other times, unplugging and re-plugging the power cables for the PSU and GPU resolves the problem.

Here's what I've tried so far:

1) Reseated my RAM and tested each stick in all slots, which helped once or twice.

2) Reseated my GPU but saw no change.

3) Changed the CMOS battery and reset it; it improved the display a few times but the problem keeps coming back.

4) I flashed my BIOS to a newer version based on a previous suggestion; unfortunately, that didn't help.

5) I verified the monitor works perfectly with my Xbox One using HDMI, but I haven't checked the Display Port cable since I don't have other tech to test with.

6) I connected the Display Port directly to the motherboard after removing the GPU, but still, no display.

7) I thought maybe the GPU stand/stick was affecting the connection, so I took that out, which seemed to work for a day, but then the problem resurfaced.

8) I looked for anything that might short my components or pinched wires, but everything seems fine.

Here are my specs for reference:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core Processor
- Motherboard: ASRock B550M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
- GPU: Zotac GAMING Trinity GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB Video Card
- PSU: Corsair CV550 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

If anyone has experienced this or has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

I’m following this too because a friend of mine has a similar issue. We’ve done a ton of troubleshooting, but the display just randomly fails. It seems no matter what we try, it temporarily fixes the issue but then it comes back. If you’ve got any spare parts, especially a power supply, I’d suggest swapping it out to eliminate the PSU as the problem. Also, peripherals can sometimes cause issues during boot, so trying those without any connected could help!

That's wild! If you haven't swapped out any parts yet, I’d be curious to know if we have similar components. I'm planning on isolating peripherals too, so I’ll keep an eye out for any updates.

It sounds like a classic case of a loose connection. I’d recommend taking your PC apart and putting it back together to ensure everything is firmly connected. Check for any broken solder joints or cables that have too much strain too.
