Hey everyone! I'm new here and could really use some help. I recently built a new PC with a Ryzen 9800X3D CPU and an ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero motherboard. Everything was running smoothly until yesterday when my PC started having trouble waking up from standby. Then, it completely froze while I was playing Call of Duty MW3, forcing me to restart. Now, every time I try to boot, I get stuck at Q-Code 07. I've checked for bent pins on the CPU, inspected the socket, and even tried booting with single RAM sticks and cleared the CMOS multiple times. I've updated the BIOS to the latest version (v1512) and haven't done any overclocking—just default settings with the EXPO 1 profile on my RAM. I've read that the 9800X3D can be sensitive to BIOS settings, but I'm at my wit's end. If anyone has dealt with similar issues on this setup or knows of any potential fixes or workarounds, I'd greatly appreciate it! I'm just really frustrated right now.

There have been reports of the 9800X3D suddenly failing on 800 series motherboards, especially from ASUS. Unfortunately, there's no clear solution yet, and the best bet might be to RMA the CPU. Some think it could be related to VSOC voltages exceeding safe limits. Just a heads up, it seems ASRock users have reported the most problems, while MSI and Gigabyte users aren’t seeing many issues at all. So, it looks like you might be facing a dead CPU situation here.
