I'm considering upgrading my RX 6800 (non-XT) to an RTX 5070 Ti, but I'm unsure if it's worth the cost. I'm mainly gaming at 1440p with a 7800x3d CPU. Has anyone made a similar upgrade and noticed a significant performance boost?

You probably won’t see a huge difference. If you can wait, consider saving for something like a 5080 instead.

For reference, the RX 6800 (non-XT) is roughly on par with the 7700 XT. You’ll definitely see some improvement, but whether it’s worth the $750 price tag is up to you.

I'd suggest looking at the 9070 XT instead of the 5070 Ti. Just a heads up, Nvidia's drivers have been pretty buggy lately compared to AMD's.

I wanted the 9070 XT if I could get it for MSRP, but the cheapest I found was $700. The 5070 Ti is $750, so for just a $50 difference, it felt like a better deal.

Is your RX 6800 doing what you need? It's a solid card, and there's a significant upgrade potential, but only if you feel like the current performance isn't cutting it. If you can play your games fine and don’t feel pressured to upgrade constantly, it might be worth waiting for a better deal or a higher tier card like the 5080.

Absolutely! I switched from a 6800 XT to a 9070 XT. The difference may not be huge on paper, but I’m pretty happy with the upgrade. If you're not satisfied with your current performance, go for it. Otherwise, maybe hold onto the 6800 and see if it meets your needs.
