I've been using a GTX 1070 for a while now, and it has handled some newer games decently well thanks to FSR. However, I find FSR's quality to be pretty poor and I'm considering an upgrade. I'm using a Ryzen 5600X CPU, which is a solid chip, but I'm not sure if I should pair it with a high-end GPU or if I would need to upgrade my CPU as well. What do you think?

Honestly, any decent high-end GPU you choose will be a major step up from the GTX 1070. You'll notice a huge difference in performance, especially in modern games. Just keep an eye on CPU bottlenecks if you game heavily; some games are more demanding.
It really depends on what games you play. My 5600X clogs a bit when paired with my 4060 in MMOs, but if you stick to less CPU-intensive games or regular FPSs, you’ll be just fine with a high-end GPU.
If you're looking around $700 for a GPU, something like the 9060XT could be a great fit. It performs well, especially with FSR4, which improves the visuals a lot compared to your current setup. Just check out some gameplay videos to see how it looks!
Nice! I'm definitely leaning towards the 9060XT, especially since it seems to handle newer titles well.
Your Ryzen 5600X is actually a great CPU! You probably just need to upgrade your GPU without worrying about the CPU. What’s your budget and the resolution you’re gaming at?
Wait, the 4060 struggles with 1440p? That’s surprising!
