I'm looking for recommendations on which Linux operating system would run best on my Lenovo G50-70. It has an Intel i7-4510U processor, 6GB of RAM, and a 1TB HDD. Any suggestions that consider performance would be appreciated!

I totally recommend MX Linux with the Xfce desktop environment for your setup. It's lightweight yet powerful. And if you're willing to make a small investment, swapping out your HDD for a used SSD can really speed things up—I've seen them for about $20 on eBay!

Definitely replace your HDD with an SSD; it’ll make everything feel way faster! I'd suggest using Linux Mint with the XFCE desktop environment for a smooth experience.

Haha, good to know! Thanks for the tip.

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any Linux distro on that machine. If you're after the best performance, consider Arch Linux. For a more user-friendly experience, Linux Mint is a solid choice, especially for newcomers to Linux.
