My laptop has been stuck on a frozen screen for several hours. I've tried holding down the power button and doing a hard reset, but nothing seems to work. Right now, I'm just waiting for the battery to die. Any advice on what to do next?

You may not have held the power button down long enough! Make sure you really press it for at least 4 seconds. If that doesn't work, waiting out the battery or manually disconnecting it are your best bets.

Exactly! I've seen many people forget to hold it down long enough. It's pretty rare for the laptop to be completely unresponsive like that.

You might want to try removing the bottom cover and disconnecting the battery cable. Once you've done that, reseat the cable and see if that fixes the issue.

Sometimes there’s a hidden button under the laptop that can disconnect the battery if it’s not removable. You could try using a pen or paperclip to press that.

Make sure you’re pushing the power button firmly and long enough. If it still won’t turn off, you should unplug the battery to avoid any damage.
