Hey everyone! I'm about to buy parts for my first gaming PC and want to make sure I'm on the right track. My budget is $800, and here are the specs I'm planning on:
- GPU: RTX 5060
- CPU: i5 12600KF Unlocked
- Cooler: Thermalright Fozen Notte AIO
- PSU: Apevia ATX 800W
- Case: Foifkin K11
- Motherboard: MSI Pro B760M
- RAM: 64GB DDR4 RGB
- Storage: 2TB M.2 SSD
Are there any suggestions or changes you would recommend?

Having 64GB of RAM is a bit unusual for a gaming rig. You might see better performance with a faster CPU like the Ryzen 7600. And considering budget options, you could look for a 16GB Radeon 9060 XT, which performs close to the 5060 Ti.
If you're aiming to save more, consider a 7600X for better upgrade flexibility in the future. The LGA 1700 socket might not be the best choice long-term. And 32GB of RAM with better speed and lower latency would give you a much better experience. Definitely look up some guides on RAM selection too! Also, you might find a 9060 XT for less than the 16GB 5060, depending if DLSS is important to you. Good luck with your build!
Your setup looks solid for the budget! Just make sure you're not going for the 8GB version of the RTX 5060, as it may not perform as well. Opt for the higher capacity if you can!
There isn't a 16GB option for the 5060, just the 5060 Ti. But the 8GB version should still work fine for 1080p gaming.
Totally agree! The 8GB version isn’t great, but it should hold up for most games at 1080p.
Solid components, but could recommend reducing the RAM to 32GB for better performance—it’s likely more than enough for gaming. Just keep higher clock speeds in mind! Also, consider checking prices for a 9060 XT vs. the 5060 to see what’s available.
Yeah, I went with 64GB since I already have it, but I wonder if downsizing to 32GB would help performance without breaking the bank.
