Is This $500 Apple Gift Card Email Legit?

Hey folks! I just switched from Android to iOS and got myself an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Shortly after my purchase, I received an email from a sender at giftcards.apple.com containing a code for a $500 Apple Gift Card. I've tried looking online to see if this is part of some promotion but I couldn't find anything. I've also asked friends who are long-time iPhone users, and they've never heard of this. I'm a bit skeptical because $500 is a significant amount to just get out of nowhere. Can anyone tell me if there's any risk in redeeming this gift card? Appreciate any insights!

That email address looks legit since it comes from Apple's domain, and they do sell gift cards. It's possible someone from your family or friends wanted to surprise you, or it might be part of an Apple promotion. To be extra cautious, you can call Apple Support and verify everything with them while trying to redeem it. Just make sure it's not leading you to a suspicious page asking for your login info!

I went ahead and redeemed a gift card I received too, and it worked without any issues. My friends wouldn’t just gift me $500 out of the blue since that’s a lot in my area. The balance showed up fine, and the email was genuine. Still, I worry about what could happen to that balance later on.
