I'm currently running an R5 5600X with an RX 6600, and I'm planning to save up for an upgrade to AM5. I mostly play competitive games and would love some advice from anyone knowledgeable about AM5. Specifically, I'm looking for recommendations on which processor and motherboard provide the best price-to-performance ratio. What's considered the '5600X' equivalent in the AM5 lineup? Honestly, I wouldn't bother switching to AM5. A lot of folks here suggest just upgrading to the 5800X3D or 5700X3D if you're already on the AM4 platform. I went from a 5600X to a 5800X3D a while back, and I'm not feeling the need to change again anytime soon.
I’ve heard similar things about the x3D chips. I've already got 32GB of RAM and decent drives, so sticking with AM4 might be smarter for me. I've been struggling to maintain consistent 240fps in Valorant, though.
