Is it time to upgrade my CPU or GPU for better gaming performance?

I've got a gaming setup with an 850W PSU, a Ryzen 5800X, an RTX 3070, 32GB of Vengeance RAM, and a Gigabyte B550 Vision D-P motherboard. Lately, I've noticed that my performance in some 1440p games is lagging, forcing me to lower settings to medium or even low just to hit 120fps. I'm considering upgrades and have spotted a good deal on a white 9070 XT, but I'm unsure if that's the right move. Any advice on what to upgrade for better performance? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like your GPU is the bottleneck, and upgrading to the 9070 XT would definitely give you a solid performance boost. You'll get better rasterization and double the VRAM, which should help a lot in those demanding games. I have the 9070 XT, and it really delivers!

Good to know! So the 5800X should hold up well at 1440p, right? I figured it might only be an issue at 1080p. Thanks for the encouragement—time to sell my old GPU!
