I recently lost all my bookmarks and open tabs in Chrome due to some syncing errors. I hadn't used my laptop in a while, and when I logged back into Chrome, it unexpectedly closed and wiped everything. I've checked my Local Storage and found the "Local State" file from before the issue. Is there a way to use this file to recover my bookmarks, or are there any other methods I can try?

Have you tried logging into Chrome on a different device? If your syncing was turned on, your bookmarks might still be saved there. Also, check the bookmarks file in this location: C:Users%USERNAME%AppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefault. Look for two files named 'bookmarks' and 'bookmarks.bak'. If they’re there, you can close Chrome, rename 'bookmarks' to 'bookmarks.old', and 'bookmarks.bak' to 'bookmarks'. Restart Chrome to see if your bookmarks come back!
Thanks for the tip! Also, if I have a JSONLZ4 file labeled "bookmarks-2024-06-25_12_OUZU93n86to8Fse-y577Ow==", can I use that to get my bookmarks back?
That's a good idea! Just make sure to close Chrome completely before you rename those files. There’s a chance your bookmarks could be in that backup.
