Need advice on my new build: 5070 Ti + 7800X3D – Mobo, Cooler, and Case Fans

I'm gearing up to finalize my build with a 5070 Ti and a 7800X3D, but I'd really appreciate some reassurance on my component choices since this is my biggest investment in a PC to date. Specifically, I'm a bit uncertain about the motherboard—I've seen mixed opinions suggesting it might not be that future-proof. Plus, I want to know if the CPU cooler I picked is adequate and if four case fans are enough to keep everything cool. Here's the link to my part list: https://fi.pcpartpicker.com/list/TskJDj

Honestly, your build looks pretty solid! About the motherboard, what are people saying makes it not future-proof? Both the B650E and B850 have strong VRMs and PCIe 5.0 support, which are great for future CPUs. Just because it’s a big build doesn’t mean it’s bad—some like smaller setups, but this one can handle future hardware just fine!

Your CPU cooler should manage just fine, and I really recommend the Phantom Spirits if you want a little more performance for just a few bucks extra. Plus, turning on PBO for the CPU and EXPO for RAM in BIOS is an easy way to boost performance without hassle. Just remember not to enable X3D for gaming—it can actually reduce your overall performance. Lastly, for power supply, 850W is more than enough, but if you can, consider going up to 1000W for added headroom. Don't skimp on the PSU; it’s essential for stability!

Thanks for the thorough advice! I ended up upgrading my PSU to the MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 after seeing it had solid reviews and was rated A in the SPL PSU tier list. The old one was a B- and didn’t have many reviews anyway. Appreciate the help!

I've never personally used an air cooler, but I've seen the Peerless Assassin recommended a lot and it seems solid. As for the motherboard, it should be good for future upgrades as long as it has an AM5 socket, which will be supported for a while. If you're not planning to upgrade CPUs soon, it’s a non-issue. Go for it!

I went with a similar CPU/GPU combo, and it works fantastic! For the cooler, the Phantom Spirit Evo has been great for my 7800X3D and it's budget-friendly. Your case choice is all about aesthetics, but a B650E or B850 motherboard would serve well. Trust me, four fans are definitely enough for optimal cooling!
