How Hard is Flashing BIOS on a New PC Build?

Hey everyone! I'm getting back into PC building after a decade, and I'm a bit nervous about the whole process. In 2021, I had a rough experience with a pre-built system that had a faulty motherboard and GPU, among other issues. Now that I'm ready to build my own setup, I'm trying to pick the right components for longevity, primarily looking at the 9800X3D and 7800X3D processors combined with either an MSI X670E MAG Tomahawk or an ASUS B650-E TUF motherboard. I noticed that some combos require a BIOS update, and I'm curious – how challenging is it to flash the BIOS in a fresh build? Also, with a $200 price difference, which combo would you recommend? Appreciate the help!

Flashing the BIOS is super easy! Just look up "How to flash BIOS" on YouTube, and you’ll find tons of tutorials. Most motherboards these days have streamlined the process, so don’t sweat it too much.

Honestly, it’s not hard at all. Just follow the instructions in your motherboard’s manual. You probably won’t need to update right away since the 9800X3D has been around for a bit, and boards usually ship with the latest BIOS. But it’s a good idea to check for updates after you set everything up.

Thanks for the reassurance! So you think the 9800X3D is the better choice over the 7800 combo? I really just need to shake off the jitters, but I’m excited to build again!
