I just got myself an LG ThinQ 55UT81 TV, and I'm trying to turn off motion smoothing. I managed to disable it for regular content, but as soon as I switch to HDR, the motion smoothing automatically turns back on. I've checked the settings but can't find anything related to this feature. Has anyone figured out how to completely turn off motion smoothing, especially for HDR movies? It's really frustrating!

Have you checked if there's a film mode available? Sometimes TVs have specific modes that could influence how motion smoothing behaves.
I feel your pain! If it were me, I'd seriously consider returning the TV. Motion smoothing is a dealbreaker for a lot of people; it can just ruin the experience!
I usually can turn off HDR for most content, so it’s not a train wreck, but for some films I can’t, it’s just awful. You would think turning off motion smoothing would actually mean it’s OFF, right? Such a weird issue.
Yeah, there is a cinema mode, but it didn't help at all. Tried all picture modes and the problem persists.
